The meeting was a great success with many praising the way in which the event was managed on the ground. I personally felt that it equally the quality of recommendations submitted during the event was of a very high quality and am pleased to see the level of interest out there in the community regarding issues such as vertical integration and other such topics which were discussed during the past few days.
ICANN 37 addresses a number of interesting topics including new gTLDS and the Expressions of Interest (EOI) process involved in pre-registering these.
In addition to this 37 clarifies the status of applications for IDN ccTLD’s to date.
Present at the event was Gray Chynoweth, General Counsel & Vice-President of Business Operations for Dyn Inc. He produced a number of interviews and video recordings including with well known faces such as Bart Boswinkle (Senior Policy Advisor for the Country Code Name Supporting Organization), Steve Crocker (CEO of Shinkuro Inc.), Liz Gasster (Senior Policy Counselor, ICANN Policy Support) and Avri Doria (Chair of the Executive Committee within the Non-Commercial Stakeholders Group).
An interview was also conducted with Rod Beckstrom (ICANN CEO).
